Our school serves students in grades K-8 and teachers provide rigorous academic instruction, that serves the needs of all our students while providing a safe learning environment.
My energetic students come from many diverse and challenged homes, but they crave fun and exciting ways to learn during their guided reading time.
My fun-loving students live in a low income inner-city neighborhood. They lack many basic school supplies and there are language barriers because their native tongue is not English. All students receive free daily breakfast and lunch. My students have many personal struggles at home, but it is my job to make sure they are able to accomplish their individual school work goals.
One of my goals as a teacher is to provide things that my students are lacking and to create a positive learning environment. Every day I strive to meet their various needs in any way I can. My students want to improve their ability to work in math and reading, and so by requesting protection tools for their health, my students will be able to complete their assignments!
My Project
When our students return to a safe reopening to school later this month, they will need daily disposable masks to wear and their own hand sanitizer to use while being taught in a hybrid model.
Having extra disposable masks and individual hand sanitizers in the classroom at all times, will keep all of my students safe, not sharing or having any communal supplies.
I plan to have my students keep their individual hand sanitizer in their desk so that the materials will not get contaminated and this will keep the spread of Covid 19 down.
Due to the concerns of air pollution and germs that may abound in the classroom, I am requesting a air purifier to refresh any stale air, reducing the chances of health issues and airborne diseases caused by Covid 19. The air purifier will remove the airborne matter such as dust mites from our class environment and provide clean air, free of pollutants for all students.
