Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I absolutely love my students' curiosity, resilience, and determination to learn. As a math teacher working with immigrant students and English language learners, I see firsthand how they embrace challenges and push themselves to grow every day. They come from diverse backgrounds, bringing rich experiences and perspectives to our classroom, and despite the language barrier, they are eager to engage, solve problems, and develop their critical thinking skills.
The games and toys I’m requesting will make a huge difference in their learning by transforming math into an interactive and engaging experience.
Many of my students learn best through hands-on activities, and these resources will allow them to practice essential skills in a fun and stress-free environment. Whether it’s a logic puzzle that strengthens problem-solving or a number game that builds fluency, these tools will make math more accessible and enjoyable.
My goal for this project is to foster a love for learning by creating a classroom where students feel confident and motivated. I want them to see math not as something intimidating, but as a subject they can master with practice and creativity. By incorporating games into our lessons, I hope to boost their confidence, encourage teamwork, and help them develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
