Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten class is made up of an incredible group of students that inspire and amaze me every day. I teach at a Title I school in a low income, high poverty school district. Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch. A large portion of our student population comes from low-income households. Despite the challenges, my kids come to school eager and ready to learn!

We are a STEM school where we integrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through project-based learning activities for our students.

This population has been significantly impacted by Covid and subsequent school closures making the learning gap even larger. I would like to purchase some individual learning items for my students to help them learn at their individual learning levels.

My Project

These materials will be used by my students to help with individualized learning on the level that they are at. The sight word building set will help with students who still need to learn their sight words but also challenge my students who are ready to learn more. Similarly, the math magnetic tiles will help with my students learning their numbers while engaging my more advanced students with more difficult concepts. My students will be especially excited to use the class packs of white boards and clip boards during carpet instruction time.

The fine motor skill activities are crucial for early learning development.
