Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Special Education teacher at a low income\poverty area, my students face some daily challenges. Our elementary school is located at Hermosa which is a Latino community. I intend to make their learning experience a significant one by providing them with the tools they need. My students are also students with special needs. They come to school every day with new hopes for learning and they find a warm family of teachers that have passion for what they do.

My Project

As a Special Education Teacher, my students need to have interventions in Mathematics and Reading to help them meet their goals. My students struggle with the basic skills of Reading and Writing.

Getting this project funded will help my students work with a variety of fun interventions that at the same time will help them to meet their academic expectations and keep their work organized.

With a mathematics intervention kit, we will be more effective to find individual interventions that fit the students' needs in order to accomplish their IEP goals and offer a variety of interventions to choose from. We will be able to provide a more accurate data of the students' needs and strengths.

They also have a hard time keeping their work organized and most of the time that throws them off task right away. Keeping their interventions visually organized would be much easier with a mailbox organizer.
