This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since I teach math, I do not spend enough time teaching my students how to deal with mental health issues and supporting their well-being. By requesting journaling materials and fun incentives, I hope to teach my students how to find an outlet to express their feelings through writing, coloring, stamping, and even listening to music. The materials I requested will help my students learn the importance of maintaining healthy mental health by becoming aware of their emotions and developing more self-awareness. My goal for this project is to teach my students different strategies and journaling techniques so that my students become more aware of different ways to deal with their mixed emotions as they go through different stages of development. My students are special because they worked very hard to come to school every day despite the fire disaster that just happened and the financial struggles that they have to face every day.
