My Students

Our school is nestled at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Maryville, TN. We serve approximately 575 students from various socioeconomic statuses. Regardless of their background, we strive to prepare students for the twenty-first-century workplace by providing them with real-world experiences to learn and grow.

My Project

Research has proven that students can focus and perform better in the classroom when they have unstructured activity time in the outdoors.

While it is quite chilly now, we are preparing for warmer weather when our students can enjoy time outside with friends while also getting physical activity.

As we approach the end of the school year when students must complete state-mandated tests as well as more rigorous projects and assessments, we know that we must provide a chance for students to relax and have fun.

We have lots of grassy areas as well as a large basketball court and four-square court, but the equipment is showing wear and tear. Adding more balls and nets would give the students even more opportunities as well as the excitement of seeing new toys!
