My Project
We are seeking funding to support student safety, engagement, and environmental responsibility during our outdoor garden and greenhouse activities. Students regularly participate in planting, composting, and harvesting, and sun protection is essential.
Traditional sunscreen lotions have been challenging—students often avoid using them because they don’t want the residue on their hands before working with tools or plants.
To make application easier and more effective, we’re requesting sunsticks. These allow students to quickly swipe and rub in sunscreen without the mess, making it more likely they’ll use it consistently.
We also hope to provide protective cap covers that shield the neck and sides of the face—areas that are frequently overlooked but easily sunburned. These covers will help ensure more complete protection while students work outdoors.
Additionally, we’d like to offer individual bags of chips as a small reward after garden time. While we teach the importance of healthy eating, a familiar and popular snack in moderation helps keep students excited and motivated. Chips are a campus favorite and make a great occasional treat.
Lastly, our labeled rubbish bins make it easy for students to sort compost, landfill, and recycling. This hands-on system reinforces sustainability habits and environmental education in a clear, practical way.
