This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am asking for donations to fund my pretend play center in my kindergarten classroom. I teach in a title 1 district with mostly bilingual students who come from low economic backgrounds. I would like to build them a pretend play area in our classroom where they can learn and grow. Most do not have access to play areas like this in their homes, so I would like to give them this experience in the classroom.

They love to play!

Most people don't understand that playing is learning for young children. They will learn social skills as well as language skills during play and this is extremely important for the population for students that I teach.
