My students come from very diverse backgrounds, and many come to school speaking another language as English Language Learners or speaking a second language in addition to already knowing English. These children have a love of learning, reading, writing, and math. They love coming to school every day.
We use an arts-infused curriculum to enhance student growth and learning.
We also provide students with choice and autonomy to guide their own learning through the different things they like and may have interests in.
These requested materials will make such a difference in my students learning! To coincide with our literacy curriculum, students get to choose an activity that they would like to do during our Daily Five choice time. We are in need of fun literacy and phonics based games to enhance student learning. The requested short vowel, long vowel and blend games will help my students practice key phonics concepts they will learn in first grade. I am also requesting addition, subtraction, place value and money games, because in first grade students learn the foundational concepts. We are in need of these math games to go along with our math curriculum and math workshop time.
Having fun literacy and math games will help to spark my students interest and get them excited and ready to learn!
Getting children excited to learn and participate every day is one of the most important aspects of teaching. Having games to use as supplemental learning materials is a great way to get students excited and motivated to want to learn.
