I am creating a checkout library for board games and card games so students can check out games to play at home and return later, like a library book. The games have come from second-hand stores, donations, and garage sales. In our little school of about 400 students, many families struggle to provide basics for their children and there's not a lot left over for fun. Both students and parents said they would like to have less screen time and be able to play board games with their parent/child - but they don't have any. Our students come from many cultures and one of our multi-language teachers has offered to add QR codes to videos of how to play the games. This is a high-impact project!
I have invested time and my own money in this project, buying dozens of games, labels, inventorying games, and setting up the software to make this work but I need BAGS for students to carry games back and forth.
I have chosen bags that are bright and easily identifiable as "game bags."
Students will be able to work on reading, math, and social skills by playing board and card games with their families if they have bags to carry them back and forth.
