This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In third grade, as educators, we start introducing fractions to our students. I am a first-year third grade teacher this year and have limited supplies to teach our students. I want hands-on fraction manipulatives so that students have access to exploring math in various ways. I have many scholars in my classroom who learn in various ways, and I want to create a fun, engaging, and safe learning environment. Our beautiful school is located in a low-income community. I want to provide equitable education to all our students by providing different resources to benefit the way they learn.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
