Help me give my students two different options for flexible seating. Not all students learn the same, so giving them options for their seating preferences will help them to be the best learners!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a special education teacher and some of my students learn better seated on the floor and not in a chair. Having flexible seating options will help them to be more comfortable and ultimately become better learners. Everyday my students will participate in D.E.A.R. - drop everything and read. We will read for 10 minutes a day and work on comprehension skills, reading fluency, and building our vocabulary. Having a flexible space in the classroom to read will be a great addition that my classroom is missing and something my students could benefit from.
