My Students

My students have a hard life and worry about things that they shouldn't at their age. Our school has 99% of students who receive free breakfast and lunch, some of which they keep to eat at home. Many of the students live in the projects right across the street from our school. Most only have a one parent house hold. I try to do the most I can for my kiddos, but its hard to do on a teachers salary. I love my kids because even though they go through so much, they have the biggest hearts.

My Project

Most of the materials for this project are for reading. One of file folder packages is for math. My students LOVE these the file folder activities. Sadly, my current ones are torn, missing pieces, and mostly too easy for them. These ones that I have asked for are more challenging and exciting, even I want to play with them! They are also great because they have answer checkers for not just my ELL students to double check, but all of my students. The puzzles are something that the kids can self check because the pieces will not fit if they are incorrect. They are great for my ELL students because they can practice in a fun way and not be embarrassed as they are working alone. It is a fun way for them to practice their reading and spelling skills by themselves while I am working in small groups.
