I would love to give my students the opportunity to learn mathematics in a new way. I will use the Jenga games to develop several different options to practice the student's skills in mathematics. The blocks will be colored differently and each color will have different types of math skills. Students will only be able to pull a maximum of four of the same color blocks before running out of that color option. Once one block is picked, all students need to practice the problem and agree on the answer. If there is a discrepancy in their solutions, they must work together to determine the correct solution. Once their recording sheet is complete, students may play until the blocks fall down.
Students will be able to practice their math skills and learn to collaborate as a team while playing Jenga.
Letting my students practice their math skills by playing games will also help engage them in practice instead of a boring worksheet. The students also have to agree on the answer and work together to get the same solution. If one student disagrees with the answer the others must show them the steps so that they all agree.
