FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Brill's classroom raised $264
This project is fully funded
Hello! Each year, my first graders write "All About" books as part of our non-fiction writing unit. The children each select a topic of interest, do some basic research, and write a book about their new topic of "expertise."
Because my students are only six and seven, finding age appropriate non-fiction books for them to learn from has been a challenge. Gail Gibbons is an author/illustrator who writes non-fiction books that are relatable, fun, and easy for kids to break down. I often use Gail Gibbons' books as a tool when I am teaching the children about elements of non-fiction books, such as table of contents and diagrams.
The children love Gail Gibbon's books, but my supply is limited. I would so love to provide them with a full library of her books. It is really rewarding when my students independently choose their research topic and become expert writers. I will send you copies of the books the children write so you can see how much your generosity contributed to their growth as writers. Thanks for reading my proposal!
