This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a lovely group of First Graders. We are a Dual Language Class, which means that students are learning at least one language- we alternate between instruction in Spanish and English every other day. We are a Title I school, which means that many of our students come from low income families.

Many of my students are reading below grade level, and they need some engaging books to get them excited about reading!

My Project

My students are bright and excited to learn, but many of them are reading below grade level this year. Most of my students are attending school 100% remotely, which means that they do not have access to our classroom library, and the students who do attend in-person still learn from home half of the time. We need more books, and not just any books- we need interesting and engaging books that beginning readers want to read.

My students need some fun books to get them excited about reading!

Please help me provide new books to help jump start their journey to becoming lifetime readers!
