Fun at Recess

My students need equipment to use while outside for recess and for indoor recess such as balls, buddy bands and puzzle mats in the classroom.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Snodgrass's classroom raised $936

My Students

Recess is a time for exploration and the development of gross motor skills. Unfortunately our school's playground was burnt to the ground a few years ago and all that remains is a slide, two ladders, and some stairs for my students to share with 40 children at a time.

My preschool students are some of the sweetest and loving children you will ever meet.

They attend an open space school in one of the most dangerous schools in Washington, DC. Most of them come from single family homes and live within a few blocks of the school. Most of them have seen and experienced more in their young lives then anyone should have to in a lifetime.

My Project

This wonderful materials will be used to engage my students in gross motor skills inside and outside during their recess time. When we are unable to go outside because of the weather, or because we are on lock down because of events happening in the community, my students need activities to do in the classroom. These materials would be wonderful for them to use to engage in gross motor development in the classroom. Most of the materials can also be used outside for their recess too. Our playground is in terrible shape after being burnt down a few years ago and students get bored very easily. With these materials they would have a variety of activities to do while outside.

With these materials my students will have the opportunity to have fun and just be carefree kids for a short time during the day.

Not only would these materials help my 16 students, but they would have the opportunity to help the other children that we share the playground with during our recess time.
