Fun and Rewards in 1st Grade

Help me give my students fun, hands-on, STEM activities. Every week, we have a Fun Friday activities. I would love these activities to be programable Robots, Invention kits, and related STEM learning activities. These make learning like play!

My Students

My class is a wonderful mix of students on various ability levels, and nationalities. I have students from many parts of the world. They are all motivated to learn and are very interested in science and technology. They love using iPads, and doing hand-on math. They are a sweet group of 1st graders, and are eager to please, learn, and discover new things.

They especially love math centers!

I have 5 iPads, and some hands-on manipulatives, but I would love to add STEM activities for more complete learning. Working together to reach this goal, would be amazing for them! They would love centers even more!

My Project

My 1st Graders love to explore materials and learn hands-on. They like to wonder and figure things out. I would love to give them STEM activities during Math Rotations, and during our "Fun Friday" Reward Activities.

Using STEM activities and resources will help the children in my class expand their love of learning math and stretch their imaginations.

They will enjoy building and designing machines, as well as robots. They will develop deep thinking skills while programing robots to move... all while having fun and working together. It is learning at its best.

Using these STEM activities, my children may be influenced to pursue more science, engineering, and technology degrees someday. Making learning fun, inspiring, and challenging is what this project will accomplish in my class.
