This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 14 groups of diverse and eager students that range grades Preschool (in the summer) to 5th grade. I provide them with resources, materials, and innovative items that assist them within the classroom. I pull small groups and work directly with scholars on educational, foundation skills and games as well as models different ideas and strategies to keep scholars engaged with the lessons. We are a part of an active learning community that strives to support and drive our students to be the very best they can be.
My Project
Some students at my school will be virtual, some will be hybrid (sometimes coming to school and sometimes not), and full time students who come to school 5 days a week. My classroom needs to be prepared for all students and with keeping them 6 feet apart. I purchased (on my own) yoga mats so there will be four spots on the floor where students can work. The trays I am requesting will have the students' materials that will be bagged. The seats I am requesting will be for those students who might not get a yoga mat area or may need extra cushion on their bottoms. After each group of students, I will sanitize/clean the mat, tray and seat. The yoga mats and trays will be able to keep the students in their area, 6 ft apart, and allow my to clean the objects as they are plastic/rubber (without ruining them). It will be a great addition to my classroom as I also will hold students who need a 'break' from their mainstream classroom-- with their work of course-- and they will be able to work at these stations while I work with my group.
