“Books are a uniquely portable magic.” ― Stephen King. My classroom of fourth grade ESOL students come from countries such as Algeria and Cambodia.
My ESOL students need fun and engaging chapter books to read on our classroom carpet!
My students come to school eager to learn and explore! Our school community works hard to provide the best possible education for our students! For many of my students, this is their first experience with English. In my school of over 500 students, almost 50% of the students are English Language Learners. There are 20 different language groups in my school. We celebrate the rich diversity of our school community.
My students are eager to come to school every day to learn and explore. They love to read fun and engaging books and share them with their peers. My students need chapter books such Amal Unbound, The Adventures of Captain Underpants, and My Life as a Youtuber to read with their table partners! My ESOL students would like to have a variety of texts to read in our classroom. They love to explore different genres and make connections with their favorite characters. The books that we selected were chosen by my students. We took a reading survey to see what books we would like to read in our classroom.
Your donation to this project will provide high-interest chapter books in our classroom library!
My students love to pick a silent spot to read or share a funny story with their table partners. Thank you for your support!
