Our elementary school is composed of TK-5 grade. We are considered a school-wide Title I school, and all students qualify for free lunch. Our school population is composed of 98% Latino students and has a high percentage of English Language Learners. For some of my students, this is their first schooling experience. More than half of my class are English Language Learners.
My students are at an age where learning is best when it's hands-on. I can teach my students a subject and then they can explore for extra practice in small groups. With these STEM Science Stations, my students can explore magnetism, motion, and buoyancy. This station has hands-on experiments and engineering activities. It also includes an engineering activity to extend their learning and build their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These STEM stations have activities that cover motion, magnets, and sink or float.
This will help develop my students' skills in exploring magnets, buoyancy, motion, using scientific inquiry skills, and using tools for observation and investigation.
By providing my students with these resources they will be better prepared for their future.
