Each day, I have the opportunity to work with an outstanding group of children. The children's zest and eagerness to learn and create something new never cease to amaze me. The children arrive every morning full of smiles, excitement, and energy eager to start a new day of learning. I wish to hold on to that excitement by using Stem activities related to the books we are reading in class to create excitement about learning and reading.
Students in my classroom enjoy activities that challenge their minds beyond the classroom curriculum.
STEM education will give my students opportunities to expand upon their interests in science, math, art, and reading. Activities are needed that encompass a whole range of experiences and skills. Each STEM component brings a valuable contribution to a well-rounded education. In these activities, we are linking STEM projects to engaging read-alouds that I share with the children. "Wild Robot" and the Minecraft series are just a few examples of books I share. Using resources purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers I will provide stimulating, rigorous lessons created by classroom experts that fit the interests and needs of my students. I will incorporate a variety of stem kits to create multiple engineering projects to accompany our literature program thus ensuring a challenging curriculum that encompasses a variety of subject areas.
