Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every child deserves a better tomorrow. Here at SP, we are dedicated to helping students work towards a college degree. We are committed to closing the achievement gap by helping all students succeed, including children from minority groups and military families. We focus on project-based learning and student-centered instruction. I hope to provide my students with educational opportunities they may not have access to otherwise. Please help make this a successful and memorable school year for them.
My Project
Here at our school, we emphasize project-based learning. Throughout the year, my fifth graders have worked on projects that incorporate engineering and 21st century skills. I have taught lessons about coding, engineering and design, various technological skills, and collaboration.
Legoland offers a workshop where students put all of these lessons and skills to the test in order to complete an engineering and coding challenge.
This workshop would be a great way to combine everything we have learned in our STEAM lessons this year. This project will help us raise the funds for our bus transportation. This is an opportunity they will never forget.
