My Project

Many of our students are lacking the opportunities outside of home to enrich their learning. This grant would enable students to further their knowledge of science in ways they would not be able to experience by providing new materials for learning.

These materials will provide opportunities for real-life applications.

Students will become "scientists" to learn more about geology by building their own landforms using playdough. Students will take on the role of geologists as they make different types of rocks using starbursts. Students learn more by "doing" and remember concepts longer through hands-on learning. By incorporating these materials into their daily SCIENCE LAB, they will be able to make instant classroom and curriculum connections that will be endless. They will take these hands-on experiences with them, year to year, as they prepare for their future.
