My Project

My 5th grade students need STEAM materials in our classroom! Since the COVID pandemic, this group of children has endured many hurdles in their academic journey. My goal for this project is to use the requested materials to allow my students to work in small groups to enrich their social and emotional development, their mental well-being, and to further accelerate their learning and development through engaging activities and lessons.

The items I've requested will encourage exploration & peak the curiosity of my 5th grade students.

They will allow me to design my curriculum around new and engaging STEAM challenges and ideas such as creating the tallest tower or the longest bridge using LEGO sets or Brain Flakes. Students will use Play Doh to create animal representations of characters we meet in the books we read. The headphones will help students listen to online programs designed to fill in their learning gaps. And the markers & oil pastels will be used by students when creating art projects that match our curriculum!

My amazing group of 33 boys and girls will be beyond thankful for this donation to our class. Thank you!
