Full STEAM Ahead

Help me give my students a water and sand table to use both for STEAM exploration and differentiated academic learning. Also in this project are different tools that students will be able to use with the water table.

My Students

I teach kindergarten to a class of 22 students who come to school everyday eager to learn and grow inside the classroom. The students in my class come from very diverse backgrounds. Over half of the students within our school are considered low income. The diversity within the classroom is what makes our school unique. It provides students a chance to be immersed in many cultural experiences that helps them to become well-rounded individuals.

As an educator it is my goal within the classroom to instill the love of learning, and ready my students for their future careers, and that involves having a STEAM mindset

Through this STEAM initiative, students are working on the four C's which involve creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. Through these skills students are building relationships and growing academically, socially, and emotionally. This work both inside and outside the classroom is preparing our students to become positive and powerful members of society.

My Project

With the funding of this project with biggest impact will be the water and sand table. This table can be used multiple different ways within the scope of our learning. Whether it is fishing for letters/numbers or constructing towers while working on building communication skills among our students.

The materials in this project will provide numerous opportunities for differentiated instruction among our diverse learners.

The coding mouse will be used for both color recognition, counting, problem solving, and team building.

Lastly, these materials will help to create an engaging environment within the classroom. It will provide experiences for students that paper/ pencil work cannot.
