My students are an amazing group of 4 year olds! Their smiles, inspire me to be a better teacher every day. However, they come with their own personal baggage, even at their young age.
All of our students are at risk for different reasons.
They come from families with limited language and all qualify for free breakfast and lunch based on their families low income status. Some of my students come from refugee families escaping the hardship of war. Despite these factors, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They are bright and are eager to come to school in order to experience things they normally would not be exposed to at home.
My Project
For young learners, science is just an extension of their everyday world. We don’t have to teach young children how to wonder, discover, and explore through play because they do it naturally! STEAM learning is a great way to get young learners to be interested and engaged in science concepts.
With your donation, the classroom can be set up so that our science materials are displayed in the class year round for the children to explore with.
Using the science cart, all of our science themed materials can be put into the plastic baskets for the student's convenience. With the materials out for the kids to explore with, they will be able to expand on their ideas and their discoveries!
