Our classroom is a part of Boston Public Schools and serves a diverse K-8 student body. Each classroom is co-taught to help meet all the needs of our students. I am part of a math 7/8 team and too many of our students cannot access online materials that we use when they are home. This station will enable them access before or after school and/or during lunch. We like to use resources like Google classroom so increasing their access is always a priority.
My Project
My diverse group of learners love to show what they know and improve their learning by using technology. Our math classroom currently shares google Chromebooks with our entire K-8 community and this limits our ability to use technology. Our school currently shares 4 classroom carts. By funding this project we will be able to have a daily technology station with 5 Chromebooks. We will be able to allow students to access this during class and also before and/or after school. We feel a responsibility not only to give our students access to high quality math resources but also enhance their technology skills. We are trying to foster math and technology skills along with a love for learning.
