This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As our population has changed, so have our needs, which is why we are becoming a Title I school. Our funds are minimal, but my first graders love to learn, build, and engage in hands-on projects. They love to do art and interact with creative materials. I hope to provide resources to give them more opportunities than they currently have. We are requesting Magnetic Tiles, Crayola Colors of the World Colored Pencils, Dixon Ticonderoga Beginner's Pencils, Marble Run Sets, Elmer's Glue Sticks and more.

Our classroom is multi-cultural, and some of the students do not speak English, but when they are engaged in creating, their self-expression is a bridge of communication with each other.

The remaining classroom supplies are our ongoing needs to keep the classroom healthy and clean and to provide the basic necessities for students to do their work.
