Full STEAM Ahead to Creating, Building, and Exploring!
Help me give my students experiences in STEAM as they explore kits like Create-A-Chain Reaction, Design & Build Engineering Centers, and Gadgets and Gizmos Invention Kit so that they can build, explore, and create.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my students are English learners attending our Title I school. They come from diverse backgrounds and many speak other languages such as Spanish, Pashto, Farsi, Arabic, Mongol, Japanese, Vietnamese, and many more. They come eager to learn despite the challenges of not speaking English or speaking very little English. Their families are also enthusiastic to help their students learn and teach their students the curriculum in their own languages so that their students understand the concepts being taught in the classroom.
My Project
These STEAM kits will help my students create, build, and explore the areas of Science, Engineering, and Math. They love to create, build, and explore. They also learn how to collaborate and communicate with each other when they build a project together.
Many of my students are eager to use the few kits that are in our classroom.
The students will enjoy using the kit Create-A-Chain Reaction as they watch how objects affect each other in motion. They will create their own inventions with the Gadgets and Gizmos Kit, and learn how magnets affect metal objects with the Magnets kit. My students will enjoy learning Science, Engineering, and Math with the STEAM kits.
