This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my school love the library. They love reading and exploring new books. I want to create an even more engaging atmosphere by incorporating STEAM into my library lessons and centers. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. STEAM education pushes students to go beyond the curriculum and standards. It also teaches students how to solve real-life problems and challenges, which will benefit them in the future.
With these STEAM materials, including magnetic blocks, LEGO, and Keva planks, I will be able to connect literature to hands-on challenges.
This will provide opportunities for student creativity and promote more reading. I also plan on using these materials in library centers. Students will be able to explore and free build after checking out books. Having centers in the library will increase student engagement and encourage collaboration. These STEAM materials will make the library an even more fun and exciting place to visit!
