This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten students are full of energy and excited about learning!
The students in our district come from primarily low income backgrounds.
They don't always have the opportunity to interact with educational tools that will stimulate their minds and develop new ways of thinking about ideas. These materials are very hands-on and will benefit all levels of learners.
Our school educates pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students. If we can peak their interest in these areas, future teachers can build on the excitement.
My Project
My five and six year old students come from various backgrounds, but they all need inspiration! This project will give them the opportunities to really experience activities in the areas of science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics. These experiences are not the "run of the mill" things the students see on a daily basis. I searched for things that will allow them to connect to all academic areas.
Who knows...you could be enriching the minds of future architects, doctors, painters or engineers!
Kindergarten is a very special time and I want them to be engaged in learning in ways that will motivate them for years to come.
