My Students

My partner teacher and I combine our kindergarten classes together to engage our kindergarten students in hands-on learning experiences. We teach 50 active kindergartners who love to move, collaborate, and explore while learning. School is a brand new experience for many of our students and they all learn in their own unique ways.

We love when they are engaged in real learning and we hear one of the students say "This is the best day ever!"

This project would help us to give them some new learning experiences around coding, math and literacy.

My Project

This project would allow us to share some new experiences around coding in the classroom while also teaching and practicing our math and literacy skills.

We have centers time each week and would build these materials into our learning centers to inspire the kids to want to practice.

They get so excited by the hands-on tools we provide them and they practice without even knowing they are learning because it is fun.

The Hello Ruby books are the basis for our beginning coding that we will be teaching. They will learn to code each other, their teacher, and the Code and Go Mice.
