About My Students

My students are hard workers who strive to be and do their best. My students walk in daily with a smile on their face, ready to face the difficulties of engineering and technology that I throw at them. While every student is one-of-a-kind, all students share the desire and enthusiasm to experience their education through current technology tools. Even though the topics we discuss are challenging for them, they still strive to be successful.

My students try their hardest to be successful, but they sometimes lack the tools to reach their fullest potential. Being at a Title I school with students who come from many different backgrounds and cultures, I strive to open their eyes to whatever interests them, so that they can be successful in their future.

My students are hard-working in all aspects. They are in a class that has never been an option for them before, sparking a type of creativity never before engaged in this style. My engineering and coding students come from a very low income area, and would not get as many opportunities if it weren't for this class.

Giving my students the opportunity to work together to come up with solutions to individual and community problems has improved their desire to learn in all of their classes. My students have grown immensely already, and coming together to address the headphone dilemma in class has proved their growth as students, and as a team.My hope is that through these headphones, they can be further engaged in activities such as making videos online, having Skype calls with other communities (and hopefully countries!), and help them focus to dig deeper into solving everyday, real-world problems.

In Their Own Words

We are trying to get better headphones for our class to do different activities online. We use headphones often in class, whether it is watching videos, recording presentations, or making positive videos for teachers who have helped us out!

Our current headphones are breaking and do not have microphones, so we hope that we can get headphones that fit us, and can help us be more successful in our future.

One of the characteristics of our school is being a leader, and we always try to be leaders on campus. Some students in our class talked about the headphones we have now and decided that we should get better ones for our class. We are helping future students with these headphones. When we show our classmates that WE got these for our class, we think other students will be leaders too.

Our headphones right now were donated by a teacher, and are not good quality because we needed a lot. Our headphones are like the ones we want to get, and they snap closed to save space in our classroom and keep them organized. However, they break under minimal force, even when we take care of them. They are flimsy and uncomfortable for using all class period, preventing us from working to our potential. If we get these new headphones, we would feel more comfortable using them, we would be able to do more things on technology, and we will be more productive. Our students cannot afford headphones on our own, so a classroom set really is needed for our class.
