My students are incredibly ambitious 6 and 7-year-olds that are enthusiastic about learning and remind me daily that their creative young minds are ready to take on any challenge that is presented to them. They come to school daily, ready to learn, and it is my job to ensure that they are given the best opportunity to flourish both personally and academically.
In my classroom, I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My goal is for the students to develop into independent thinkers that are ready to immerse themselves into 21st-century learning when given the opportunity.
I am confident, that with your help, I will be able to enrich the lives of my students and encourage them to “bee” lifelong learners.
My Project
Student engagement through hands-on activities is crucial to learning and Bee-Bots in the classroom is one way for our little learners to stay actively engaged while learning beginning coding. The Bee-Bots will not only teach beginning coding but they will use them to practice math and literacy skills during flexible grouping. In addition to being active learners, we know that technology in the classroom, even as young as first grade, will lead to individuals that are able to think outside the box, problem-solve, and think critically while working collaboratively with their peers. With your generous donation, you will assist in opening the ever-evolving door of computing to our youngest and most eager learners.
