Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach an amazing group of students in an inclusive classroom setting. General education students are blended with students with different disabilities in order to best support their needs. I love working with my students because I see how this inclusive program allows all students to build on each other’s skills as they learn and grow together.
In this classroom setting students are modeling those high social and language skills from the gen-ed kiddo, which is why it's so important for them to closely interact with them.
Inclusion is an important key in students success and that’s why teaching this group of students plays a vital role in their academic success.
My Project
As an early childhood special education teacher I strongly believe that students at this age learn through play. They develop social skills through their daily interactions and content that is relevant to their lives. Therefore these items are essential to my students learning and their success. With these items my students will have the opportunity to learn through play as they build on their social interactions with their peers. An organized classroom that is structured is also key to students overall success. All my students will benefit from these materials in the classroom.
