Full Belly, Full Mind

Help me give my students snacks to avoid hunger pains in the morning, allowing them to focus and be more alert during reading and math lessons.

My Project

My classroom consists of 25 inquisitive, imaginative, and inspiring 3rd graders from different backgrounds.

We are an average classroom in a low income school, full of diverse learners.

Many of my students come from hard working homes that still struggle to put food on the table each night. Many students come to school hungry and in need of my attention.

My students are given the opportunity to bring in a healthy snack to munch on between breakfast and lunch. Many students have growling bellies that cause a distraction in the classroom. They find it difficult to focus when they are hungry. I have been doing my best to provide snacks for students who are unable to supply for themselves. However, it is a growing problem that I can no longer provide for.

A donation of goldfish, animal crackers, and graham crackers will help my students avoid hunger pains in the morning, allowing them to focus and be more alert during reading and math lessons.
