This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Starting high school can be overwhelming, especially for students who face additional challenges outside the classroom. Our school hosts a special Freshman Orientation for at-risk students to help ease their transition and set them up for success. We provide mentorship, guidance, and a welcoming environment—but to make the experience complete, we also want to provide snacks and drinks throughout the day.

These students are navigating challenges such as academic struggles, difficult home environments, or social anxiety.

A positive orientation experience—one where they feel supported and comfortable—can set the tone for their high school journey. Providing basic refreshments helps us meet both physical and emotional needs.
