This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a Title I middle school where my soccer players work hard both on the field and in the classroom. However, many of them face challenges outside of school, including food insecurity. By the time they suit up for a game after school, many haven’t had a proper meal since lunch, leaving them low on energy and focus.

Our team needs healthy, energizing snacks to eat before games so they can perform at their best.

Without this nourishment, they start their games at a disadvantage, both physically and mentally.

Soccer is more than a sport for my students—it’s a chance to build confidence, teamwork, and discipline. Providing snacks before games ensures they’re fueled and ready to represent our school with pride. A small gesture like a pre-game snack can show these young athletes that their hard work matters and that they are important.

Your contribution will allow us to purchase nutritious snacks and bottled water to fuel our players, including Granola Bars, Fruit Snacks, Trail Mix, Cheese Crackers, Gatorade, and Bottled Water.

With your support, my students will have the energy and focus they need to play their hearts out. Thank you for helping me give them the nourishment they deserve as they strive for success on the field.
