My Project
My 7th-grade students, many of whom come from low-income backgrounds, face unique challenges in their educational journey. One such challenge is hunger, which can significantly impact their ability to focus, learn, and grow. Many students come to me throughout the day asking if I have any snacks that they could have.
Why I Want to Give Snacks to my 7th Grade Students:
Many of my students come from families struggling with food insecurity. For them, having a consistent source of nutrition is a daily concern. By offering snacks in my class, I hope to alleviate some of this burden and ensure that hunger doesn't hinder their learning. Hungry students often find it challenging to concentrate on their studies. Providing nutritious snacks can help boost their energy levels and cognitive functions, allowing them to engage more effectively in class activities and absorb the health information.
