Fueling Minds for State Testing

Help me give my students much needed fuel and motivation for their SOL test!

My Project

Our state administers SOL testing every year at the end of the year to determine student progress and teacher proficiency. This high stakes testing is often a day full of anxiety and pressure to perform. We have students from every walk of life and we know that many of them do not have the resources to have a nutritious and filling breakfast or snack on the day of testing.

We want to provide breakfast on the day of testing with a variety of choices for all students along with a drink.

We also want to provide mints and gum to students throughout the administration of the test. Chewing gum or having a mint in your mouth has shown to reduce anxiety and increase focus. We hope to provide this for the entire 6th grade on the day of testing.
