This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help bring color, creativity, and nourishment to our vibrant ENL classroom in Harlem! Your support will provide:
Decorating with Language: Students will personalize our classroom windows with seasonal cling decorations they choose, label, and display using chalk markers.
This hands-on activity strengthens vocabulary while creating a welcoming, inspiring space.
Healthy Snacks for Hard Work: Fruit, granola, and cashew bars will fuel my students as they dive into language learning and creative projects. A little energy boost goes a long way in helping them shine!
Exemplar Picture Books: Featuring Latinae stories, multilingual voices, and inclusive, imaginative themes, these books will inspire my students with powerful examples of storytelling that reflect their own identities and dreams.
Blank Storybooks for Final Projects: Each student will unleash their creativity by writing and illustrating their own story, a semester-long journey showcasing their language growth and artistic talents. Stencils will also support students to build visual arts skills and scaffold their ability to independently add hand-created illustrations to their language learner storybooks.
Together, these materials will nourish both body and mind, turning our classroom into a hub of creativity, learning, and self-expression. Thank you for helping my students thrive!
