Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love the diversity and curiosity my first graders bring to the classroom. Some are native Spanish speakers, while others are native English speakers, but they all share an eagerness to learn and grow. Despite coming from low-income families, they are enthusiastic about exploring new ideas and developing new skills every day.
This project will help both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking students by providing a rich collection of Spanish books.
For my native Spanish speakers, it will give them access to books in their first language, helping them strengthen their literacy skills. For my native English speakers, it will provide exposure to a new language, broadening their horizons and fostering bilingualism. This reading center will not only support academic growth but also build confidence and a love for reading across languages.
