Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, we are committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. One of the most impactful initiatives we have implemented is our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Store, where students use the points they earn for positive behavior to purchase items. Students also participate in taking online orders and delivering items to each classroom, which provides us perfect opportunities to teach valuable vocational skills. Thanks to community donations, we’ve been able to stock a variety of essentials, but the most popular items—snacks and sensory toys sell out quickly.

These items serve as powerful motivators, reinforcing positive behavior and creating an environment where students feel seen, valued, and rewarded for making good choices.

My students thrive when given recognition and tangible incentives that celebrate their hard work. By replenishing our PBIS Store with the items they love, we can continue fostering a sense of accomplishment and motivation in our students.
