Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my classroom, I’m always looking for creative ways to help students stay focused and engaged during lessons. One ongoing challenge is managing cell phone distractions while also recognizing students’ need to keep their devices charged. That’s why I’m requesting phone charging cords and three charging stations. With this setup, students can plug in their phones at a designated area, giving them peace of mind while also reducing temptation and screen time during class. Taking a break from their phones can also support students' mental health by giving them time to reset, recharge, and be more present.
These charging stations will serve as a simple but effective incentive for students to turn in their phones and be more present in their learning.
Instead of battling distractions, students will be more likely to stay productive and engaged, knowing their phones are safe and charging. This project will help create a more focused classroom environment, while also showing students that small systems of trust and responsibility can make a big difference in their academic success.
