In our Bronx Pre-K classroom, technology isn't just a tool—it’s a bridge to opportunity, inclusion, and connection for our low-income, English language learning, and special needs students. With your support, we are requesting an iPad to empower communication, enhance learning, and strengthen family engagement in our vibrant community.
The iPad will be used to support students' communication skills through interactive AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) apps and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) tools, giving nonverbal and minimally verbal students powerful new ways to express themselves.
It will also help bring lessons to life through engaging, interactive activities during center time, inquiry-based learning, and group instruction.
Beyond student learning, the iPad will serve as a critical tool for strengthening our home-school partnership. It will allow us to quickly share updates, communicate with families, and provide access to parent resources that promote advocacy and support at home. Additionally, it will support staff development and program monitoring by providing immediate access to professional resources, curriculum support, and student progress-tracking tools.
Having technology readily available means we can reference visual supports, enhance lessons in real time, and adapt instruction to meet the individual needs of every learner. With your generosity, this project will help us create a more connected, empowered learning environment for our students, their families, and our entire Bronx community.
Thank you for helping us open more doors for communication, learning, and growth!
