This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our community, many of our students face significant challenges outside the classroom. For some, the school cafeteria is their primary source of nourishment. HSHS serves a population of low-income students, and within this group, there are those who come from vulnerable backgrounds. As educators, we understand the critical link between nutrition and academic performance.

As such, I am asking for your generous donations to help these students remain fueled and engaged during such a poignant moment in their high school careers.

Demonstrating successful proficiency on the state exam is a prerequisite for graduation, so it's imperative students remain alert, awake, and on task during this day that can determine their future successes. A clear mind and sustained energy levels can make a significant difference in their ability to comprehend complex questions, recall information, and perform to the best of their abilities.

By providing snacks to help students stay alert during the test, we are not only supporting their immediate academic success, but also their long term prospects. Your contribution to this cause directly impacts these students' futures, ensuring that they have the opportunity to fulfill this graduation requirement and pursue their dreams beyond high school.
