This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 5th grade social studies students are curious, capable, and come from a wide range of learning backgrounds—from special education to Gifted and Talented programs. Every day, they work hard to understand the complex story of our country’s past, from early colonies to the birth of the United States. But, to do this well, they need more than just textbooks; they need the right tools to help them access, organize, and express their learning.

I’m requesting materials like highlighters, glue sticks, file folders, rulers, and LCD writing tablets—simple but powerful tools that support hands-on learning, organization, and creativity.

These supplies will allow my students to annotate primary sources, build interactive notebooks, create timelines, and take visual notes, all in ways that are differentiated to meet their individual learning needs.

The LCD writing tablets will especially support students who benefit from visual learning and fine motor practice, while the folders and supplies will help all students stay organized and take pride in their work.

Your support will help ensure that every student—regardless of ability—has what they need to fully engage with history and feel confident in their learning. With your help, my classroom will be a place where the past comes alive and every learner can shine.
