Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a public school that is located about 10 miles from the Mexican Border. My campus population is made up of 66% Emergent Bilingual and 99% Economically Disadvantaged.

My group of 6th grade students are part of an afterschool program that requires them staying for an extra three hours a day four times a week.

Their lunch time is super early which means that by the time they get to me they are drained and need fuel in their systems.

Being able to provide some type of snack will give them the energy to be able to continue for the remaining part of their day.
