This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their passion, creativity, and resilience. Every day, they show up ready to learn, eager to get their hands dirty, and hungry (literally and figuratively!) to grow as young chefs. Many of them are discovering their strengths through food for the first time—learning not only how to cook, but also how to collaborate, lead, communicate, and problem-solve under pressure. We need a convection oven, a charcoal grill, a griddle, and more.

With updated tools, they can:

-Practice real-world kitchen techniques safely and efficiently

-Work in teams like professional line cooks, learning how to manage stations

-Execute more advanced recipes that prepare them for culinary competitions and certifications like ServSafe

-Build confidence in themselves as future industry professionals

These resources will help us create a classroom that feels like a professional kitchen—giving students a taste of what their future could really look like. Your support won’t just buy tools; it will ignite careers, change lives, and inspire a new generation of culinary leaders.
